I am in Florence this week at a class called "Metalsmiths in Florence" where I am studying under a master goldsmith for the week.   The project is to create a gold ring from scratch, as in,... I must first create the 18kt gold before beginning the build out of the ring.   I am very excited and a little nervous.  The instructor and team have been great, so I will have lots of help.
